Sept 2016 - Dover-Folkestone railway opens ahead of schedule

After just 9 months, the sea wall at Dover, which was damaged during storms in Dec 2015, has been repaired and the railway line between Dover and Folkestone has been re-opened to the public.

Collaboration between Network Rail and its subcontractors saw works that would normally take two years to plan and implement being carried out in such a short time.

Feb 2016 - ITV News visits site (Dover Sea Wall)

A visit by Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin MP and Network Rail Chief Executive Mark Carne was covered by local news team ITV Meridian. Breckland Geomatics is providing surveying services to the principal contractor. The full report can be seen here.

Dec 2015 - Aerial photography at Bristol City (Ashton Gate)

Breckland Geomatics Limited was granted permission by Bristol Sport to fly inside Ashton gate to capture some aerial photographs of the new stadium development. The photographs and short film can be seen in our Gallery.

Nov 2015 - Permission for Aerial Work granted

Breckland Geomatics is pleased to announce that it has now received its "Permission for Aerial Work" from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

In order to carry out aerial surveys commercially in the UK, it is necessary to gain written permission from the CAA. To achieve this, the following requirements must be met:

  • Attend a two-day aviation theory course and pass a written exam
  • Write a Company Operational Manual and Safety Document
  • Gain at least two hours flight experience with an unmanned aerial vehicle
  • Obtain UAV specific Public Liability insurance
  • Carry out an on-site survey and flight test

Breckland Geomatics Ltd was pleased to attend the Geo Business Show in London this month. Whilst viewing the latest technology, it was a pleasure to meet up with some "old" acquaintances and to make some new contacts.
